Swordigo is like a platforming Zelda.
In Swordigo, you are to embark on a journey to cleanse the land of evil using your special sword and magic. You also get to equip special stones onto your wares, which gives you special attributes, like mana absorb, health regen and more.
Swordigo is one of the best platforming games I have ever played. The controls are just perfect, the graphics are great and the game is lengthy enough to be memorable.

Assassin’s Creed – Altair’s Chronicles ($6.99)
The twist of action-adventure games for the next generation is now available for your iPad and iPhone. This game, Assassin’s Creed seems incredible and consoling as it takes you several hours to complete. Thus, this game is one of the most lengthy and challenging iPad games ever created.
The controls, though, take a little while to get used to. Walking and running is a little hard to feel. Sometimes, too, i felt lost and do not know how to get to my destination. The pickpocketing, though, is the coolest mini game ever.

Broken Sword HD ($5.99)
Awesome Crime Solving Adventure Game for the iPad
Broken Sword is one of the well-loved iPad games these days because the plot is romantically tuned to the idea of being a reporter in Paris tracking down a murder.
The controls on this game are a bit tricky though, but the dealings with people and objects would give you a lot of thrills and fun. You’ll be stunned as the main character of this game is a woman, but this does not show the heroic stunts of Lara Croft though.
This is just a beautiful game. You’ve got to try it!
Update: Now with two releases!

Many iPad games have always commented on this game because this game displays a perfect balance between adventure game and a puzzle book. When playing this game, you’ll feel like traveling to different parts of an island searching for your lost lover who was stolen from you.

The Adventures of Tintin ($4.99)

The Adventures of Tintin as a great-looking exploration game for the iPad. The game is extremely loyal to the movie rendition of the same title that in fact, there are some spoilers in it. If you are haven’t watched the movie and are planning to, watch out (pun intended).

Heroes Call (Free)
Adventure iPad Game like DIablo 3
This game is so much like Diablo 3. This dungeon crawler game makes you go into quests on fetch, go to or meet up in areas full of monsters. Each of the two playable characters (one comes with free the other you have to unlock using freemium currency) has distinct abilities and skills you can unlock and play with. These are actually crucial with survivability in later quests.
The only problem, as much like with most free to download games is that there is so much pressure to purchase in-game services, like in this one. You would need to unlock the Plague Wizard (sound ultra cool — PRESSURE!) and then the game makes you wait or pay premium currency in between levels.
If you can handle this, then you can get your Diablo fix on the iPad.
Simon the Sorcerer ($1.99)
Great Wizard Adventure Game on the iPad!
Your kind of Harry Potter is now here on your iPad. In this game, Simon is teleported into a supernatural empire of goblins, giants, dwarves, and a little green with low self-esteem. He’ll need to strike away the villains.
Simon the sorcerer has two episodes, with a lot of different language versions, each costing two bucks.
If you like your adventure games in a dungeon-crawling RPG style and you also like magic, then this game is for you. In this game, you control a young mage on the verge of graduation, tasked to defeat a dark mage in a nearby tower.
As a mage, you are given access to four main attacks (but it is recommended you hone only one) and some supplementary spells that can aid you in the adventure. Items are also available, some of them enhancing abilities or adding more skill levels to existing spells.
Note that this adventure game works only on iPad 2 or later.
Looking for an iPad game that will squeeze your brain and enhance your logic mechanisms? Then try Machinarium, an indie epic created by Aminata Design. This is the kind of adventure game that does not have a single word of dialogue. This iPad game was released on October 16, 2009 for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux in 2011 for iPad2 on App Store, and for Blackberry Playbook on the same year.
In March 2011, Amanita Design announced that Machinarium was available to PlayStation 3, and for Android.
Warning: The game does not work on iPhones and on the iPad 1st gen.
Monkey Island Tales ($2.99 each)
Awesome Game, Great Graphics!
This game was originally released in 2009 – a fantastic graphic adventure video game developed by Telltale Games and Lucas Arts. This is the fifth game in the Monkey Island series after the release of Escape from Monkey Island.
In contrast to Telltale’s previous episodic adventure games, whose chapters told discrete stories, each chapter of Tales of Monkey Island is part of an ongoing narrative. This game was widely distributed through WiiWare and Telltale’s own website, and later through Steam and Amazon.com.
Ports for Mac OS X, the PlayStation Network, and iOS were released several months after the series ended.
Each episode is $2.99 to download.
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP ($4.99)
Awesome Point and Click Adventure iPad Game
Superbrothers is a great looking-pixel art point and click adventure game. This game was chosen as the iPad Game of the Year Runner-Up in App Store Rewind 2011, and it deserves the award and praises it is getting.
In Superbrothers, you follow the story of a mysterious avatar, The Scythian, who escaped from the “the war-ravaged steppes of Scythia.” The plot continues in a tide of twists in turns… literally, as you constantly shift your view of the iPad from landscape to portrait and back.
Waking Mars ($4.99)
Quite an unusual adventure iPad game
This is quite an unusual adventure iPad game. While many games on the iPad asks you to destroy life, here you would have to cultivate life on mars as you travel around the bowels of Mar’s caves, checking and analyzing each fauna and flora you encounter — the diet, the role in the biodiversity, reproduction, everything in order to boost the planet’s biomass.
Feel like being an astronaut? Download the game!
Happily Ever After ($0.99)
Awesome Adventure Hidden Object Game for iPad
If you twist the characters in fairy tales and combine them into a fun iPad game, you will get Happily Ever After. Here, you will find out that the Prince Charming isn’t that charming after all (a bit of a jerk, really), Sleeping Beauty is an insomniac rock star and little Red Riding Hood rides a bad ass bike.
They also need your assistance in finding stuff, perfectly fitting fast food in a basket and kissing princess toads to find the perfect bride.
Happily Ever after boasts a cool graphical art, too, which reminds me of Ben 10 artwork style. The games in Happily Ever After do not only offer hidden objects scenes, but also some brain twisters, some funny trial and error games and something like guessing what type of veggie is under the mattress.
Some of the games are quite repetitive too, but I think this is nitpicking. Just maybe pick up an iPad holder so you don’t need to always be holding it, or some other iPad accessory.
The Bard’s Tale ($4.99)
Cool Action Adventure RPG for the iPad
The Bard’s Tale is a port form the PC game of the same name. Here, you control a selfish bard trying to take a sexy, rich princess locked in a tower after being promised with coin and cleavage. Unlike most heroes, though, he is is such a jerk with an attitude and a lot of libido… and you will love him for that.
The game play itself is great, with an on the top view of the hack and slash battle scheme. You can choose and combine four different fighting styles: two handed, sword and shield, dual wield or bow and arrow, in combination with summoning magics.
The cut scenes are also an awesome feature. The script is chock full of super hilarious lines as well as sing along music videos!
Captivating Adventure Game for iPad
If Waking Mars astounded you, this one will, too. If you have ever played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the Playstation, this is much like it, only set in underwater.
Aquaria is a side scrolling platformer set in an underwater environment. Where you control a merperson called Naija. Music is a big part of this game, as you control a merman who decided to discover the past and embarks with only music as her weapon. Pretty weak start, but as you progress in the game, she gains more abilities.
The game is filled with beautiful music, artistic works as background and challenging puzzles, as well as expansion on areas you can unlock by backtracking to previously explored areas after receiving new abilities.
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
(Free to Download, $7.99 to Unlock All Chapters)
An Amazing Adevnture Game from Capcom
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is an amazing adventure puzzle game where you play Sissel, a ghost in a quest to to find out more about himself and how he died since he had no recollection of his past life. Sissel can jump from object to object and perform ghost tricks to manipulate them.
Sissel also can travel back in time, four minutes before a person’s death and use his powers to change fate.
This game is so amazing, it killed two days of my time. Although the game is at least $7.99 to play (free to download then you must buy additional chapters) it is very very well worth it!
